Violinist, Angela Scalise, is equally at home playing in the classical genre of music as well as more contemporary styles such as pop, rock, hip-hop, and jazz. While residing in Los Angeles from 2000-2015, Angela performed regularly with many orchestras including the Santa Barbara Symphony, Opera Santa Barbara, and the Pacific Symphony.  She made multiple television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Jeno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Grammy Awards, and The Academy Awards.  She has played for many motion picture and TV soundtracks and has also performed with a wide variety of artists such as Josh Groban, Kanye West, Tony Bennett, and Michael Buble.  Angela relocated to North Carolina in 2015 and has most recently played for musical organizations such as the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, the Durham Symphony, Carolina Ballet Orchestra, and NC Opera Orchestra.  When not performing, Angela spends lots of quality time with her husband, daughter, and their rescue mutt, Higgins.

Pianist, J. R. Wright, is a versatile pianist fluent in jazz, classical, theatre, church, and popular music For several years he performed all over the world as a show pianist and bandleader for several cruise lines, including Crystal, Celebrity, Norwegian, and P&O Australia among others.  He has accompanied several prominent Broadway tours including Anything Goes, West Side Story, and Cinderella, and has conducted several local productions of note, including a revised version of The Mystery of Edwin Drood in collaboration with singer/songwriter Rupert Holmes (“The Pina Colada Song”).  While living in California in the early 2000’s he worked at the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood and conducted the world premiere of The Wildest! featuring the music of Louis Prima and Keely Smith.  Currently, J. R. is a music director at the Unity Church of the Triangle and conducts a weekly jam session at the C. Grace jazz venue.  He enjoys spending time in the outdoors and taking walks with his dog, Bud.
